With one in five people in Australia going without dinner tonight, we’re collecting food donations to assist those who need it the most.
QEP head office in Victoria, every AFS branch in Victoria, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Queensland and South Australia (via the roving van) and all the QEP Marine warehouses in Queensland and New South Wales are running food drives with donations going to Foodbank.
Foodbank is the largest provider of vital food and groceries to food relief charities around Australia. Last year alone, Foodbank collected enough supplies to provide 210,000 meals to people in need every day.
But Foodbank and the charities they supply need help to keep up with demand. Over the past 12 months, the number of people seeking food relief has increased by a huge 22% (Foodbank Hunger Report, 2019).
A box is in every AFS branch, QEP Marine warehouse and all QEP head office kitchens to collect food donations with everything collected going to that state’s Foodbank warehouse. We will be donating to Foodbank in Victoria, New South Wales/Australian Capital Territory, Queensland and South Australia.
We’re collecting food donations from Friday, November 22 until Friday, December 6 and will be delivering all the donations to Foodbank's warehouses by Friday, December 13 just in time for Christmas.
