QEP is delighted to announce the acquisition of our largest independent distributor in Australia, PR Floors.
QEP is a worldwide operation specializing in the sale and distribution of tools, accessories and flooring including the market leading Roberts brand. QEP have successfully operated in the Australian market for approximately 20 years.
PR Floors, previously owned by the Perrett family, have been a long standing customer of Roberts branded products for over 40 years. The Perrett family have been at the forefront of the flooring industry in Queensland since 1961, and today, boast six trade depots throughout Queensland from Townsville to the Gold Coast.
We are indebted to the Perrett family for their long standing support of QEP and for their cooperation and assistance during the acquisition process. We are also pleased that Daniel Perrett will remain in the business for the next 12 months to assist with a smooth transition.
QEP has strategically grown its presence in the flooring and accessory industry by acquiring distributors in Victoria, New South Wales and the ACT. These businesses operate under the trading name of Australian Flooring Supplies (AFS).
PR Floors is a natural fit for our AFS organization and extends our distribution network through the entire eastern seaboard. As such, we intend to re brand the PR Floors business to become AFS making us the largest accessory distributor in the country, with a total of 21 locations in Australia.
Apart from the rebrand there will be no other major changes. To all of our valued customers the message is simple – it is business as usual. The Trade Depot locations, activities and staff remain unchanged; your local sales representatives remain unchanged; local management remains unchanged with Daniel Perrett, Brad Ainsworth and Colin Moody all remaining in place.
AFS will continue to market and sell all brands currently being sold by PR Floors. Additionally, you will continue to pay the same price for these products and you will also enjoy the same payment terms. For those customers that have trading terms with PR Floors, if you haven’t already done so, please return your QEP credit application form ASAP to QEP accounts receivable as soon as possible so we can process the form and have your QEP account opened.
Going forward we expect the scale of the AFS business to provide increased opportunities and greater marketing activities to the benefit of all our customers. We look forward to growing together.
